OPPORTUNITY PONY CLUB

Opportunity Pony Club (OPC) is a branch of the Nova Scotia Regional Pony Club serving Truro and surrounding communities.

Canadian Pony Club is a not for profit organization run by volunteers for young people who are interested in riding, learning about and/or caring for horses and ponies. Pony Club is recognized internationally for its ability to build mature competent horse people, excellent athletes, and future leaders. Worldwide, Pony Club is active in at least 20 countries with over 100,000 members.

Opportunity Pony Club was founded in 1999 and offers a full program for members including lectures, a badge program, testing and riding in all disciplines.  Each summer the club runs a camp which is always a highlight for members.  The club participates in regional events by supporting teams to attend various competitions including Rally, Quiz, and Show Jumping. The club has had numerous members participate in national and international events.

Opportunity Pony Club activities are run out of Opportunity Farm located in Onslow Mountain less than 10 minutes from Truro.  The Club meets on Saturdays from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m throughout the fall and winter months. The Club's colors are burgundy and navy blue.  Opportunity Pony Club provides members aged 6-25 a chance to become knowledgeable horse people in a safe, supporting environment where lasting friendships and memories will be made.
